These fruit roll ups are a great option to a plastic free snack that you can meal prep then eat throughout the week. It does take some planning and effort to get all of the ingredients plastic-free, but it is very possible. With only 3 ingredients the most difficult thing to get is the fruit itself. This just requires a trip to your local farmer's market for unpackaged berries or other fruit. But if you are using fruits that are sold loose such as apples, you can just stop at the regular supermarket. This also goes the same for the lemons. They can be found at both the farmer's market and grocery store. And honey can easily be found at both places usually in glass containers.
Plastic-free fruit roll ups
Ingredients
3 cups of your choice of fruit
2 tbsp honey/maple syrup
2 tsp lemon juice
Directions
Preheat your oven to 180 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
In a food processor or blender, puree the fruit with the honey and lemon juice until smooth.
Pour the pureed fruit mixture onto the baking sheet and evenly spread out.
Bake for 4-8 hours, until no longer sticky to the touch. Once set, remove the pan from the oven and allow to cool fully.
Cut the cooled fruit leather into strips and peel away from the pan. Roll the fruit leather up. Store in an air-tight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.
